Adam Sandler and Kevin James star as Chuck Levine and Larry Valentine respectively, A couple of firefighters who have to hatch a hair-brained scheme and act like a gay couple in order to get Larry domestic partner benefits. I'm not surprised in the least that GLAD gave this film their seal of approval, as apart from some rather lame half-hearted soft jabs at homosexuals, the film does promote an extremely gay friendly message. Which in and of itself wouldn't be an entirely bad thing IF the actual jokes in this alleged comedy actually worked. Which they certainly don't often relying on jokes so stale that one could practically taste the mold on them. It's also one of those films that rely on a copious amount of uninspired cameos that feel shoehorned in the the story. PS: Poor Jessica Biel as Chuck's secret love interest has never been in a good film, and this one doesn't do anything to dispel the rumor that she could possibly be anything more than merely eye candy for hormonal adolescents and horny middle-aged men.
This was hilarious! I loved it. It has a great message within all of the comedy too. Fantastic!
Adam Sandler doesn't know how talented an actor he is and he's wasted away in such movies
Excellent flick! Hilarious!
I didn't respect Chuck or Larry, who constructed huge falsehoods to collect health benefits. It was almost as naughty as an episode of Three's Company. There's some shower room scenes at the firehall, and incidents of male bonding to gag anybody - gay or straight, but most of it is no worse than the kissy hand-holding scenes in most romantic comedies. The schmaltzy wedding at Niagara Falls Chapel was wacky and a bit too cartoonish with the dancing hobo. I liked the mailman character and the scene at the gay dance. There's a few nice story surprises, but it's plotted with a Hollywood Comedy Formula, hastily thrown together like most flicks these days. It may open some peoples' eyes to gay domesticity, but also may fuel some misconceptions with the over-the-top scenes.
Humorous Movie :) I really like the ending of the movie when Jessica Biel was dancing with Adam Sandler.
this film is well funny!! you got to go watch it with an english sense of humour and you will laugh your ass off!!!(no offence meant to anyone of any creed, colour or culture!!) so go.....enjoy the film!!
Dear Adam Sandler,
Just because you own a production company does not mean you get to narcissistically keep making terrible movies and mailing in awful performances, only to be shown up by every actor in your supporting cast. At least you won't be making $20M per movie anymore, though... well, on the other hand, I can see you paying yourself now that I think about it. At any rate, you have enough money I'm sure, please retire now and avoid stripping away any last tiny shred of dignity that Happy Gilmore or The Wedding Singer may have left.
Sincerely,
The Movie-Going Public
well....im satesfied with my money because you can laugh even cry, on the first till the end!!! you rock dude!!
it was fun to watch this movie ! had a good laugh as well all the way into it !
This was a waste of money! The few funny scenes were in the trailer. The rest was just wrong. I have gay friends and love them for who they are. The protesters in the movie gave a bad name to Christians. There are raticals but for the most part Christians don't think that way!
