Bender: Bender to crew: I have reached the gateway to another universe. I feel awed and strangely humbled by the momentous solemnity of this occasion.
    [turning away from the gateway]
Bender: Hey, other universe, bite my shiny metal ass!
[gets his ass zapped by the gateway]

The second of the four planned movie releases of Futurama, this time serving up less laugh out loud moments and more of the subtle humor, along with a few crazy visuals, not as good as Bender's Big Score, but still very funny.

Stephen Hawking's Head: Welcome. I am the pickled head of Stephen Hawking on a way cool rocket.
Turanga Leela: Black-Hole Hawking? Wow! If I knew I was going to meet you I would have done something with my hair!
Stephen Hawking's Head: You should have.

The plot surrounds a whole in the galaxy, serving as a rift between universes. The Planet Express crew work to fix it with mixed results, namely large tentacles invading earth with their own motive to be revealed later in the story.

This movie is more apparent as one that will be eventually split up for tv syndication, meaning that the tone is somewhat uneven.

However, it should please Futurama fans and I am certainly one of them.

Philip J. Fry: What Bender? Is something wrong?
Bender: Yes. I joined the club I thought was cool. But it turned out all leaguee-weegies are totally lame. That's what we call ourselves. Leaguee-weegies.
Philip J. Fry: Oh I'm sorry. I shoud have asked what was bothering you. I've been kind of preoccupied.
    Bender: With what?
Philip J. Fry: Well, I went to another Universe and fell in love with a giant octopus; and now I'm Pope of a new religion.

I hate to say it, but this don't work in this format. It would if it was purposly a movie, but with this whole split down into episodes for TV shenanagans it's just not working.

It would help i it was consistantly funny, but it ain't, it just feels like a mess. There's like 4 arcs all running along side each other that sort of cross each others path's over the hour and a half, but it just feels like 3 or 4 episodes jumbled together and it just feels like it would work so much better in the normal 22 minute run time.

It's still good because it's futurama, obviously, but it's just not clicking for me this time out. Something needs to be done.

I dont know why everyone thinks its so bad, i enjoyed watching it. My only disappointment is that there seem to be alot less jokes in this movie than previous futurama shows/movies, also the show seems to be moving further away from what it was originally about. Anyway it was great to watch and i look forward to future movies.
