I've haven't much been a fan of Alone In The Dark. I played The New Nightmare on the PS1 and found it to be a scary experience.I found myself impressed with it to the point I wanted to see another one. Unfortunately we gotten the Uwe Boll film of the same name which came down to abysmal reviews. Ever since then a new game was in development which was hyped to be the best in the franchise.
I was really looking forward to this one due to its awsome graphics and what not. The fact the most hyped thing was it's fire physics sounded to be it's most promising aspect. Ever since I read reviews on it I have been thrown off from playing it. Does anyone in here think it is ACTUALLY a good game or just a big heap of garbage?
I only played the first Alone in the Dark, that's all. All the others were crap. except for the latest instalment :P
It's a good game, has it's flaws but I won't let it pass.
Prefect score, great gameplay with bad controls that you'll somewhat get used to, great fluid fire system and inventory upgrading. It's fun. 3.5/5 Is my final score ^^
For alone in the dark I was expecting epic boss creatures to take on and what not. I was also expecting to know that there are alot of twisted looking creatures in the game as well. To my surprise reviews said that the monsters are uninspiring and there arent any bosses in it. They also said the whole killing monsters with fire business gets old in a heart beat.
Visually the game looked great but I read that it is glitchy and in the end it didn't come out right. Also control wise I read it sucked
i haven't heard a lot about it (mainly because i haven't been looking heh). but games are a lot like movies... games that some people love, other people hate.
the critics might say it's shit house. but unless you try it, you're never going to know are you.
find a store that will let you have a trial period. then if you don't like it, take it back and get it exchanged or refunded.
*shrug* what have you got to lose? other than some time.
I've got this game and it's not bad. Puzzles are alright, the combat is pretty shocking, nad the story is a bit crap. It's ok though, the achievements on the 360 are really easy to get as well.
